On Monday, December 12th, American and Italian students and young professionals met at Porfirio Rubirosa for a Christmas Aperitif hosted by ToscanaIN NEXT. The theme of the event was a casual discussion of online personal branding. An interesting topic discussed was the privacy of Facebook and if it’s important to monitor what you post on your profile. Together, we discussed how anything you post on Facebook is then property of the website and can never truly be removed. Thus, it is important to monitor what you post on Facebook because more often employers are turning to the website to research potential employees. Following our discussion, participants then enjoyed a buffet of many types of delicious aperitivos. Conversation and networking among participants continued throughout the aperitif.
At 8:30pm senior members of ToscanaIN joined the NEXT members at Porfirio Rubirosa for a Christmas gift exchange. The event was a great way to get into the holiday spirit and learn about how online personal branding is viewed in both America and Italy.
Thanks to Cara Ann Moran and Janelle Christina Bridston for the post and Celine Mingshi Gi for the picture.
